Sun, Sand, Fish and Power Cuts! - Cheeky Trip To Egypt

We headed to Makadi Bay, Egypt, for this years "Summer Holiday". Six of us headed out for 11 days playing in the desert and red sea! We had a great time and the constant bright sun made shooting photos a photographers dream! Here's a small selection of the 200 odd I took!

Cycle To Work Extreme - Pt1

Canon Day at Marwell Zoo

Headed down to Marwell Zoo for a days training and playing with Canon. I chose my weapon consisting of the new EOS 100D, smallest current DSLR on the market, and an EF 300mm f/2.8, one meaty massive lens! I spent a lot of time shooting videos and movies giving some awesome results. Video to come! Found it easy to use and with it being as small as it is I can see this being a great travel DSLR or something people would go for who are wanting a normal view finder on a Compact System Camera. 

Another Canon I played with was the Powershot SX50 with its 0cm macro focusing. I didn't believe them when I was told so we popped our little Lizard friends foot onto the lens to see what happens. The results speak for themselves!

 

 

Three Times Over @ The Joiners

Second gig from the 3TO guys and they once again rocked the venue to the max. I always find it strange when a support act brings in more people to the crowd than the headlining band! Keep it up guys!

Headed down to the Talking Heads for a gig that's taken far to long to come along. 3TO are back and with a new beat! As always they rocked the venue and packed out the night! Looking forward to more to come! 

 

 

High Speed Photography

I've been testing the Triggersmart Motion Capture device from Sabreswitch. This is a clear little device used to capture high speed photos from race finish lines to gun shots and explosions. I wouldn't say its as easy as they make it out to be as I spent quite some time planning this out, the other issues I had were the provided cables didn't give me much control and options. Out of the box I could use the system to fire on the laser beam being broken and using a Canon camera. Seeing as I'm a Nikon or Sony user this meant to had to find the correct cables to link the systems together. As for the high speed flash connector I had to use my flash adpater from my Sony Studio Set up which has a PC port on it and then find out of a cheap wireless trigger box a PC to 2.5mm jack cable. All fun and games.
