Ultimate Frisbee Nationals 2012

Once again the time came to head down to the sports ground and shoot as Devons Official / Unofficial photographer haha! I always enjoying shoot ultimate, theres a certain something about capturing people flying through the air trying to grab, catch and slap a disc out of the oppositions way! Love it! But next year I'm getting in the cage for the finals! Oh and it RAINED!

RAF Chimark - Urbexing

This would be our last team urbex with Papa Bear, Badger and Miss K as Badger was moving back home a week after :( well all I can say is we've left one of the best explorers to the end!

History - These consist mainly of caverns. The limestone for Salisbury Cathedral was quarried here. From the 1930s to the 1980s the caverns were used by the RAF as part of a major store for bombs and ammunition.

Sony 16mm f/2.8!

Was lucky enough to get my hands on a Sony 16mm f/2.8 to play and test out. I spent most of the week giving it a good go in loads of different places and subjects. I think its a stunning lens and when coupled with the Alpha 65 the results are vibrant and sharp - oh and huge res with the 24MP! Love it!
The day shots are from a walk up Old Winchester Hill with Kayleigh and the others are from Boggy's birthday evening!

Farleigh Down Siding - Urbexing

After a long day at work me, Mark, Rich and Nath, another Sony Trainer, decided to head off Urbexing all night. We decided to go to Monkton just next to Bath to try and discover the old WWII ammunition tunnels which stretch for miles. After two failed attempts to bricked up entrances in old barn style buildings and being charged at by a herd of cows we managed to find the sloping entrance to the tunnels. Once inside we found the main conveyor belt tunnel and began our trek to the end. Its 2km long and just big enough for me to stand up straight inside. I have to say there is something creepy about being the guy at the back of the party when you cant see anything after the dark swallows your flash lights beam. We were out from 7pm - 520am.

The entrance at 3am

Swanage Climbing!

Had a day off so headed to Swanage for a lil climbing with the old man! Was a wicked chance to try out comparison footage between the GoPro HD1 & HD2 and also the new WiFi BacPac. I found the WiFi BacPac really useful as Dad didnt know how to use the GoPro very well so I stuck it on his head and then controlled his camera with the WiFi Remote, attached to my wrist. Made using two GoPro's really really easy!

A photoshoot with some amazing machines! (Chipmonk, Harvard, Tiger Moth & Spitfires)

Having spoken to Mark, my Sony Man, about GoPro's in the past he asked if I'd be able to assist him on a few days shooting a client of his that was learning to fly Chipmonks, Havards, Tiger Moths and Spitfires! Without hesitation I jumped to the chance and took him up on his offer. It was a waiting game for the two days while the weather grounded all flights! But at the end of day two the sun broke through and the planes took off! Was such a buzz to be stood so close to these WW2 flyer's and a personal highlight was the arrival of the second twin seater Spitfire. Standing between nearly half the worlds population of twin seater Spitfires was pretty immense!

Behind The Scenes!

Getting to sit inside one of the Spitfires! (Didn't get a flight though as they cost £4000 an hour to fly - maybe one day!)
